1. Walk in + Weave

Walk-in + Weave is exactly what it means! Come in, sit down at one of our pre-warped looms and start weaving. It’s as simple as that.

We’ve done all the work, you get to have fun and walk away with a towel, napkins or a woven sample. It all depends on the time you take!

Floor looms will be warped and ready. We will have varying colors of weft for students to choose from.

Here’s what you will learn in this class: 

1. How to wind a bobbin for a weaving shuttle

2. How to weave a pre-designed and drafted warp

3. How to use a shuttle, keep your selvedge even, how to start a new weft, all the terminology to speak weaving and much more!

4. Floor loom terminology and anatomy

5. 2 hours offline learning + a skill + a handmade piece

Walk in + Weave is our first step in learning to weave. We believe in repetition and helping students find where their passions lay. If you don't like the act of weaving, you may or may not like all the other steps involved in the process. 

This class lasts no more than 2 hours. Weaving times vary per student. 

You'll be leaving with your very own woven cloth — how exciting! Weaving is a wonderful process that takes time, and part of the magic is that we never quite know how long your cloth will be until your time is up and it's complete! 

We weave in bare feet. The treadles are close together making large bottom shoes ineffective for moving from treadle to treadle. Socks are also acceptable so please dress accordingly!
