Drafting for weaving can feel mysterious, but it doesn't have to. 

Now that you've experienced the weaving process hands-on in our Walk in + Weave Class, it's time to unlock the language of weaving drafts.

This 2 +/- hour class demystifies the blueprint behind every woven design, giving you the confidence to understand what loom ownership truly entails. You'll learn to read threading drafts, understand tie-ups, follow treadling plans, and interpret drawdowns—the visual map of how yarns interlace.

We'll cover sett (the spacing of warp threads) and its impact on your finished cloth, tackle weaving math in a way that feels intuitive, and explore which yarns work best as warp.

Every term gets explained clearly, so you'll walk away with a solid grasp of how a graphic design translates into actual fabric on your loom.

This class is the essential bridge between dreaming up a design and putting it into production. Once you complete it, you'll be ready to move forward with our ordered class sequence to get your design on the loom.

In this class section you will learn:

1. How to read a threading draft
2. How to understand the tie-up section
3. How to treadle using the treadling plan
4. How to read and understand the graphic representation of the yarn interlacement in the drawdown. 
5. A basic understand of sett, or the distance between warp threads and the implications to the cloth of said width. 
6. Learning to do weaving math without the terror of actual math. 
7. What type of yarn makes a good warp and why.
