Walk-in & Weave is exactly what it means! Come in, sit down at one of our pre-warped looms and start weaving. It’s as simple as that.

We’ve done all the work, you get to have fun and walk away with a towel, napkins or a woven sample.

Floor looms will be warped and ready. We will have varying colors of weft for students to choose from.

Here’s what you will learn in this class: 

1. How to wind a bobbin for a weaving shuttle

2. How to weave a pre-designed and drafted warp

3. How to use a shuttle, keep your selvedge even, how to start a new weft, all the terminology to speak weaving and much more!

4. Floor loom terminology and anatomy

Walk in and Weave is the first step in learning to weave. We believe in repetition and helping students find where their passions lay. If you don't like the act of weaving, you may or may not like all the other steps involved in the process.

Here at The Weaving Circle, we believe in individualized weaving instruction. Students work alongside each other but at their own pace. Class size is small so instruction is based on individual needs. Our classes are taught in short segments, introducing new concepts and methods while reinforcing the repetition needed to learn a new task. While we suggest taking our classes in some sort of order, we encourage students to experiment, come back for a refresher, or to learn some new ideas as our instructors change. The suggested class order is: Walk in and Weave - simply weave an item Walk in and Wind - learn to choose colors and wind a warp Walk in and Warp - learn how to dress a loom Walk in and Draft - learn how to read a draft Enrollment is ongoing, so new students can start at any time as long as there is a loom available in the studio. As our classes are progressive, we offer them as looms become available for the next step.
