Fiber: Dorset Wool (great for socks)

This Dorset wool is collected from the small farms in the Fleece States, which includes all the states east of the Mississippi and any state west of it that isn’t split by the Continental Divide. Fiber: Falkland Wool selected for color, good for beginning

Micron/Spin Count: 27 micron; approx 56s spin count
Staple: approx. 3-4 inches

Falkland wool comes from the sheep of the Falkland Islands. It is a mix of breeds. Falkland wool is Corridale, Polwarth and Dohne Merino. These breeds were specifically developed and bred for the ability to survive in the harsh climate of the Falkland Islands. Because of this climate bugs and disease are not an issue, making the wool basically organic. This is a wonderfully soft fiber for spinning, dyeing and felting!
